Two suspects wanted after stabbing

Durham police are on the search for two suspects after a teenaged male suffered serious but non-life threatening stab wounds following an attempted robbery.

Police were called to an apartment building in the area of Simcoe Street North and Niagara Drive at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22 for an armed person call.

According to police, a 19-year-old male had met two males the day before and invited them back to his apartment. Inside, the two suspect brandished handguns and attempted to rob the victim of his gaming system. One of the suspects hit the victim in the head with his gun. When the victim fought back, chasing the suspects out of the apartment. However, in the stairwell, one suspect stabbed the victim in the back.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately six feet tall and was last seen wearing a dark sweater, blue jeans and black and white high-top runners.

The second suspect is described as a black male and was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatershirt, a Toronto Maple Leafs ball cap and blue jeans.
