Two arrested for cellphone store robbery

Two 20-year-olds from Oshawa and Whitby are now in custody in connection with the robbery of a Clarington cellphone store.

On May 22, at around 8:55 p.m., DRPS responded to a robbery call at a Rogers store on Highway 2. One of the men entered the store just before it closed and demanded property from the employees. He then took the cellphones and fled the scene. No employees were harmed.

Police located the man on Highway 401, where the pair was arrested and the stolen property located.

The men are being charged with numerous robbery-related offences and have been held for a bail hearing.
