Senior injured after being hit by car
An Oshawa senior is in serious condition after being hit by a car in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, an 83-year-old woman was struck in the parking lot of the King Street East Wal-Mart as a black Chevrolet sedan was exiting the lot.
The woman sustained serious head injuries and remains in hospital. The female driver of the sedan remained on scene and was not injured.
Members of the Durham Regional Police Traffic Services branch were called to the scene for an investigation and determined that speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident.
A portion of the parking lot was cordoned off as evidence was collected from the scene.
