Reader disputes labelling carbon dioxide a pollutant

Would somebody please tell our Environment Minister Catherine Mckenna that carbon dioxide is not “pollution”!

It is vital to life itself. We would not survive without it.

She recently changed her endless monotonous narrative from “a price on carbon” to “a price on pollution”.

She usually repeats this phrase endlessly like a robo-call message.

She should understand that those two terms are not compatible as pollution is harmful to our environment, such as former Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre allowing the dumping billions of litres of raw sewage into our waterways, but turning down any new pipeline running through Quebec as too dangerous.

Carbon dioxide is not the threat that pollution is, it is in a different category altogether.

Somebody should tell the Environment Minister.
