Province’s environmental plans called “regressive”

Dear Editor,

Ontario’s most vulnerable species are in trouble. We’re on the brink of losing animals like caribou, songbirds and turtles, and the endanged species list is growing.

And now Doug Ford may be planning to slash protections for endangered species and their habitat.

The Ford government is reviewing the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and have proposed specific measures to “simplify the requirements” for industry.

Greenpeace is standing up to Ford and fighting to protect species from going extinct right here in Ontario. Now we need your help to raise the alarm and stop Ford’s regressive environmental agenda.

This is a critical moment for Ontario’s endangered plants and animals. We must defend them from extinction. Let’s ramp up the pressure of Ford, not our endangered species.
