Police seize handgun after suspects flip vehicle

Three suspects were arrested after they failed to stop for police and flipping their vehicle in Oshawa.

On March 25, at approximately 2:30 a.m., members from Central East Division responded to a threatening call at the Players Bench on Ritson Road north in Oshawa.

A citizen contacted police and advised that two suspects left the establishment after making death threats and mentioned having a gun.

Officers responded and were able to locate the suspect vehicle driving westbound on Taunton Road. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver failed to stop. Officers discontinued the pursuit for safety reasons.

Moments later the suspect vehicle was located on its roof at a gas station parking lot at Thornton Road and Taunton Road.

A female passenger and a male passenger were located in the vehicle and two males fled on foot. With the assistance of K-9, one of the fleeing suspects was located and police are still searching for a fourth suspect.

Police located a loaded handgun at the scene and seized cocaine from one of the suspects.

A 32-year-old-man of Glen Street in Oshawa, a 31-year-old man of Trowbridge Drive, and a 28-year-old woman of Fandango Drive in Brampton are all charged with numerous firearms-related charges. The first man faces additional charges of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) and threaten death/bodily harm.

They were all held for a bail hearing.
