Police seeking suspect in attempted robbery

The Durham Regional Police are on the hunt for a male suspect following an attempted robbery of Four Guys Variety store on Wilson Road South.

On Monday, July 24, 2017, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members from Central East Division responded to reports of an armed male entering the variety store. The lone suspect entered the store armed with a knife, approached the store employee and made a demand for money. The store owner managed to defend himself and the suspect fled on foot empty-handed. There were no physical injuries to the store employee.

The suspect is described as a white male, between five-foot-eleven and six feet tall, and 34 to 45 years of age. He was wearing a red balaclava, a hoodie, red shorts and white running shoes.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call a member of the Major Crime Robbery Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5355.
