Police looking for second suspect in violent home invasion

One man is in custody, but police continue to search for a second suspect following a home invasion in Oshawa.

On Nov. 25, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from Central East Division were called to an apartment on Quebec Street. The victim was in his residence when two armed males forced their way into the apartment. The armed suspects beat the 58-year-old victim with a weapon causing serious injuries. The suspects then stole personal effects and valuables before fleeing the scene. Through investigation, police were able to identify one of the suspects and he was arrested a short time after.

The 33-year-old male of Dean Avenue in Oshawa is charged with robbery and aggravated assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

Police continue to look for a second male suspect described as six feet tall and wearing a mask.
