Police calling about body cams

You may soon be receiving a call from Durham police – they want to hear your thoughts on body-worn cameras.

DRPS has announced that it has started conducting phone surveys in regards to the technology, which it is considering outfitting its officers with.

“The survey is designed to gather the community’s views about the technology so that we can consider the feedback as we move forward with this project,” a news release from DRPS reads.

The release adds that the information gathered will help shape an upcoming pilot project for body-worn cameras and any possible future use.

Anyone with questions on this project can send an email to A/Sgt. Jason Bagg, the Body-Worn Camera Project manager, at bwc@drps.ca.
