The region may soon be asking for more money from those looking to have land rezoned or other land planning applications.
According to a report passed unanimously by the region’s planning and economic development committee, fees for major and minor regional official plan amendments will rise to $20,000 and $7,000 respectively, going up from $16,000 and $5,000.
The region will also be introducing a number of new charges, including $500 for a review of minor zoning amendment applications, $1,000 for a review of a renewable energy approval application and $1,000 for a review of a minister’s zoning order amendment application.
