Oshawa woman in critical condition after being struck by car in Pickering

A 31-year-old woman from Oshawa is in critical condition after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Pickering.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, at approximately 9:05 p.m., officers were called to Kingston Road and Liverpool Road in Pickering.

Police say a Toyota Highlander being operated by a 56-year-old male was travelling westbound on Kingston Road, when the driver made a left turn onto southbound Liverpool Road and struck the pedestrian. There were five occupants in the Toyota at the time of the collision.

The woman was transported to a Toronto hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Collision investigators from the Traffic Services Branch were called and the roadway was closed for several hours to collect evidence and conduct an investigation, which is ongoing. Police are asking for any witnesses to this collision, who have not already come forward, to contact them.
