Are you an oenophile? As odd as the term may seem, if you enjoy a good glass of wine, you likely are.

The Oshawa Wine Tasting Festival returns for its third year on Thursday, July 12 at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery (72 Queen Street).

The festival will feature 10 Ontario wineries and one international, including Casa-Dea, Keint-he, Southbrook, Sprucewood, Del-Gatto, and Arterra.

Along with the sharing of their products, makers will also share their knowledge throughout the event.

The Country Cheese Factory from Ajax will be offering a taste of its hand-cut artisan and farmstead cheese from Canada and abroad.

“Last year’s event was wildly successful and we are hoping for the same result this time around,” says Garth Johns, executive director of the Downtown Oshawa BIA.

Beyond the obvious glasses of wine that will be enjoyed, Johns says there is a ‘great social environment’ in the evening, and the ability to check out the latest exhibits at the gallery.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance by contacting angela@downtownoshawa.ca or online at eventbrite.ca

Same night tickets may be available, but only cash payments will be accepted.
