Oshawa man facing series of theft charges

An Oshawa man is facing multiple theft charges after police caught him stealing items from retail stories and re-selling them at pawn shops.

Police say that between December 2016 and September 2017, the accused male stole several items from Canadian Tire stores in Whitby, Oshawa and Clarington, along with two Shopper’s Drug Mart locations in Whitby. The stolen products included tools, computer equipment and hunting items. The male sold some of the stolen items at pawn shops in Oshawa.

He was eventually identified through surveillance photos and arrested.

The 42-year-old of Conant Street in Oshawa faces 16 theft related charges including theft under $5,000 and property obtained by crime. He was released on a promise to appear.
