Oshawa man caught with loaded gun in Whitby
An Oshawa man is among those facing charges after a loaded handgun was found during a disturbance call.
Police responded to the area of Bowman Avenue and Dundas Street East shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21. According to police, a male who came to the residence with another male and a female began arguing with the home’s resident, saying he was armed.
Police were able to arrest the male following a brief struggle.
Thanks to the assistance from the DRPS K-9 Unit, a loaded .22-calbre handgun was found nearby.
A 32-year-old male of Glen Street in Oshawa is facing several charges, including possession of a loaded and restricted weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and assault with intent to resist arrest in connection with this incident.
A 24-year-old female of Southfield Avenue in Courtice and a 20-year-old male of Summerside Crescent in Toronto are also facing charges.
