Oshawa draft picks shine in Gold Cup

Three of the Oshawa Generals picks in the recent OHL Priority Selection were part of the gold-winning team at the Gold Cup.

Ty Tullio, Dylan Robinson, and David Gucciardi were part of the GTHL Blue squad that captured their division at the annual showcase of the top U/16 players in Ontario

This year’s event was held May 3 to May 6 in Kitchener.

Robinson, the Gens second round Priority Selection, finished with two goals and three assists in four games, along with eight minutes in penalties.

First-round choice Tullio had one assist in three games played, while Gucciardi posted one assist in four games of action.

Hunter Braizer helped lead his NOHA team to victory in the consolation bronze game, while also earning Player of the Game honours.

Other 2018 Priority Selection draftees for the Generals who participated in the tournament included Ryan Gagnier, Dawson McKinney, and Matthew Sbrocca.

In all, the Gold Cup featured 130 players taken in the Priority Selection draft.
