Oshawa 16U Legionaires bow in EBLO semifinals

The Oshawa 16U Legionaires were one win away from making it to the Elite Baseball League of Ontario finals, losing 8-5 to Etobicoke in the semifinals of the 16U Division playoffs this past weekend.

Trailing by four runs heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Legionaires managed four singles but could only score once, leaving the bases loaded at the end of the game.

The Legionaires defeated Mississauga 4-2 to earn a spot in the semifinals.

During the first two games of the playoffs, Oshawa drew even in a pair of lopsided contests, falling to Hamilton 13-1 and destroying Toronto 15-0.

The team will finish out its 2017 season at the OBA championships scheduled for Sept. 1 to 3.
