One arrested after body found in Oshawa

One man has been arrested after a body was discovered in the basement of an Oshawa apartment prior to the new year.

On Dec. 30, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members from Central East Division were called to a basement apartment on McMillan Drive in Oshawa after a female victim was discovered inside. The death was deemed suspicious and homicide investigators were called to investigate and the suspect was arrested inside the residence. A post-mortem will be conducted to confirm the identity of the victim and determine the cause of death.

A 45-year-old man of McMillan Drive in Oshawa is charged with; improper/indecent interference with a dead body. He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators also located a suspicious package within the apartment. The Explosive Disposal Unit was called in to assist with the suspicious package.
