Numerous charges laid in safety blitz

A recent inspection blitz of commercial vehicles led to Durham police laying several charges in north Oshawa.

On Sept. 27, representatives from the Ministry of Transportation joined DRPS officers from East Division in conducting the blitz at the Legends Centre in north Oshawa.

The team inspected 16 vehicles, mostly vans and trucks, and took seven of those out of service for safety violations, including mechanical issues, load securement or licensing infractions.

Officers laid 24 charges, and seized two sets of license plates.
