Murder charges laid in death of Oshawa man

The DRPS have made an arrest following the discovery of the body of Jeffrey Allan Johnston in a vacant Simcoe Street South apartment.

Durham Regional Police have laid first-degree murder charges against a 43-year-old man in connection to the killing of Oshawa’s Jeffrey Allan Johnston.

Johnston, Durham Region’s ninth homicide of 2017, was found dead inside a vacant Simcoe Street South apartment on Dec. 17. Police previously told The Oshawa Express that a post-mortem was conducted and concluded that Johnston died of “sharp-force trauma”.

On Jan. 26, the DRPS arrested Paul Jaglal of no fixed address in connection to the murder.

He was held for a bail hearing.
