Multi-sport athlete commits to Durham

Multi-sport athlete Emily Glendinning has been added to Durham College’s athletic ranks.

Glendnning is the newest addition to the Durham Lords women’s basketball and women’s softball teams.

From Plasttsville, Ont. (southwest of Kitchener-Waterloo), Glendinning attended Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School and has enroled in Durham College’s sport management program.

“I heard that Durham was really good in their academics and in sports so I thought it would be a good place for me to go,” says Glendinning.

As a basketball player, Glendinning is a 5’11 shooting guard. She has most recently played in the JUEL of Ontario (an independent provincial league) for Hamilton Transway from 2014-2017.

As a softball player, she usually plays pitcher or first base. The right-handed thrower and left-handed hitter brings a lot of past success to the program.

“I’m going to be pitching for the softball team, so I hope that the fans can expect lots of wins,” says Glendinning.

Throughout her career so far, Glendinning has been part of championship-winning teams in both sports.

Fans can watch Glendinning play all year with the 2017-18 softball season set to open in September and October, while the women’s basketball regular season runs from October through February.
