Shooting comes less than a week after murder in that area

Police are seeking information after a man was shot in downtown Oshawa yesterday, and is refusing to cooperate with officers.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, Durham police were called to the area of Simcoe Street South and Quebec Street for reports of a shooting. According to police, officers arrived on scene to find a 21-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his upper leg.
The male was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
Police say the victim is not cooperating with investigators and are trying to determine what happened. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to speak with them.
The Simcoe and Quebec area has seen a flurry of police action in the past week. On Wednesday, Feb. 8, police responded to the apartment buildings there for a shooting. The victim in that case, Darius Thorne, 18, later died as a result of his injuries. The investigation in that case remains ongoing.
