Man arrested after stealing truck, breaking into home

An Oshawa male is facing charges in connection with two recent incidents in Bowmanville.

On Friday, May 26, 2017, at approximately 6:50 a.m., a male was seen wandering around the parking lot of Greeley Steel and Surplus on Baseline Road East near Liberty Street South. A short time later, he was seen driving off in a transport truck that he had stolen.

On the same day, at approximately 8:00 a.m., a male was found wandering inside a residence near Liberty Street South and Baseline Road East. The male left the scene on foot. After that break and enter, the male was seen walking in an adjacent parking lot peering into vehicles.

A 36-year-old male of Oshawa is charged with theft of motor vehicle; break and enter and theft under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing.
