Knife slash leads to arrest

A man sustained serious injuries after being attacked with a knife over the weekend.

Officers were called to Lakeridge Health at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 for a stabbing. According to police, a victim was at an apartment in the area of Albert Street and Olive Avenue when a male suspect known to him attacked him. The suspect allegedly threw a toaster at the victim, hitting him on the head, and then chased him around the apartment with a knife. The victim was slashed on three different parts of his body before making his escape and getting to the hospital.

The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries to his upper body.

A 26-year-old male of Sherbourne Street in Toronto has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, threatening, possession of a dangerous weapon and mischief under $5,000 in connection with this incident.
