Justice ruling against justice

Dear Editor,

I recently read the report on the recent drug case which was thrown out of court by Justice Robert Charney, on grounds of racial profiling – a tenuous, politically correct response at best.

I am forced to the conclusion that Mr. Charney has done a disservice to both the public and to the justice system, in addition to undermining the police service as a whole. Thank goodness we have conscientious police officers like Constable MacKinnon, who continue to do a difficult and dangerous job, despite no support from the system. I hope this reverse will not discourage you from continuing to do an excellent job, in the face of a justice system, which is that in name only.
