GM Canada records best September in seven years

General Motors of Canada has recorded its best September sales numbers since 2009.

Last month saw the Oshawa-based automaker deliver 25,466 vehicles, a two-per-cent increase over the same time last year, with September 2015 seeing 24,960 deliveries.

This was the best September for retail sales for the automaker since 2009.

“Remaining focused on our retail strategy is driving growth and our product line-up has never been stronger,” states John Roth, the vice-president of sales, service and marketing for GM Canada, in a news release.

Among the vehicles being credited for the sales bump is the Oshawa-built Cadillac XTS, which saw its September sales up 40 per cent.
