DESCRIPTION:Run for the Cure – The CIBC Run for the Cure is a five km or one km run or walk that raises funds to support the breast cancer cause at the Canadian Cancer Society. With 56 run sites across the country\, this inspirational event is the largest single-day\, volunteer-led event in Canada. As one-ineight Canadian women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime\, all support matters more than ever. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the run in Durham Region. Come out to Lakeview Park to help celebrate this milestone and help change the future of breast cancer. It runs from 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.\, and costs $45 to register. DESCRIPTION:Sunday FUNday – Interact with artefacts from Oshawa’s Ancestral Wendat archaeological sites at Sunday FUNday. Found in 1967 and 1992\, these excavations have provided a link to Oshawa’s pre-history. Learn about tools of the trade\, dating techniques and put together clay pots. Also view artefacts on display from past digs at the museum. Sunday FUNdays are held on the first Sunday of the month. Admission is free and allows visitors to interact with museum staff and its collection. It runs from noon to 4 p.m. in the Verna Conant Gallery at Guy House\, 1450 Simcoe Street South.
