DESCRIPTION:Basement Tours – Come to Parkwood Estates for one of their most popular tours. The opportunity to tour the basement only happens for 10 days each year\, and is running until Aug. 8. The Parkwood basement was the industrial plant for the mansion that included laundry\, the cannery\, the boilers\, the freezer\, the wine cellar\, the elevator works and so much more. Please not that stairs are required to access the basement area of the mansion\, if extra support is required there is a ramp that leads down to the public washrooms\, where there are three smaller steps to gain access to the basement. Admission is $15 per person\, and tours run from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:Carried Away With Carriages – The Oshawa Museum is getting revved up for McLaughlin Day with this month’s Sunday FUNday. Check out their large collection of McLaughlin carriages and cutters that date back to the 1890s and have a photo taken with their showpiece carriage in the gardens. Visitor hosts will be on hand to answer questions and show you around Henry House. This is a free event and takes place at the drive shed beside Henry House\, 1450 Simcoe Street South\, from noon to 4 p.m.
