Earth Day celebrations across Durham

The 2018 edition of Earth Day is coming up on April 22 and there are many events happening to celebrate and ways to pitch in and help the environment.

 

City of Oshawa Community Clean up- April 21 to April 28

Organize a group and help the city clean up parks, trails and school yards. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided. Participants must fill out a record of community involvement form with the City of Oshawa to register and receive a certificate.

Communities with Brooms- April 25, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Join Communities with Brooms and celebrate its 10-year anniversary. In a collaboration between the City of Oshawa, Downtown Oshawa and the John Howard Society, groups will meet at the north parkette of city hall to pick up bags, gloves and help clean up Oshawa’s downtown. A barbecue lunch will be provided.

Oshawa Public Libraries Family Story Time: Love Our Planet- April 21, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

At the Legends Centre branch of the Oshawa Public Library, families can share stories and participate in activities about earth and animals. Participants must register for this event.
