DRPS seeking to return stolen property

Police have arrested two male suspects for breaking into vehicles in Courtice in the early hours of Oct. 29 and recovered numerous stolen items.

At approximately 2:10 a.m. on Oct. 29, members of East Division responded to a call for two suspicious men in the area of Highway 2 near Varcoe Road in Courtice.

Officers located the two men at a residential driveway hiding between two vehicles. The men were arrested and numerous stolen items were seized.

Investigators believe these items are connect to recent break and enters which occurred in Oshawa and Clarington.

A 20-year-old man of Glen Street in Oshawa is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of failure to comply with probation order, trespass at night and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. He was later released on a promise to appear.

A 22-year-old man of Simcoe Street North in Oshawa is charged with trespassing at night and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. He was later released on a promise to appear.
