Dasti to represent UOIT at the University/College Championship

mackenzie_dasti_golfOshawa’s MaKenzie Dasti has punched his ticket to the 2016 Canadian University/College Golf Championship in Parksville, BC.

This marks the second straight year UOIT will be represented at the championship held by Golf Canada.

Dasti, a third year commerce major, earned a spot in the national field by finishing in the top 10 at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) provincial championship last fall.

“I’m thrilled to be going out west for the national championship,” said Dasti in a news release. “I have been playing really well and my game is coming together. I’m proud to be going to the tournament representing UOIT for the second straight year.”

The 14th playing of the championship will be held May 31 to June 3 at Morningstar Golf Club.

At last year’s national championship at Cutten Fields in Guelph, Dasti missed the cut by just two strokes. At the OUA championship hosted by UOIT at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club, Dasti finished in a tie for eighth place overall, earning a spot on the OUA second all-star team.
