Construction on Simcoe

Drivers making their way to the north end of the city may need to find an alternative route.

According to a news release from the Region of Durham’s works department, construction has begun on the stretch of Simcoe Street North between the Oshawa Creek Bridge to south of Founders Gate.

The work, which is expected to last until the end of August, will see the sidewalk and curbs replaced, asphalt replaced and new pavement markings.

“The region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible,” the news release reads.

“Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.”
