City looking for feedback on diversity and inclusion plan

Now in its second round of consultations, the City of Oshawa is looking for citizen feedback to help identify priority items for its Diversity and Inclusion plan.

The purpose of the plan, being developed in collaboration with UOIT, is to identify and recommend strategies and actions the city can take over the next five to ten years to make sure all residents have equal access to employment opportunities, programs and services, along with feeling welcomed and involved in the community.

Residents can provide their feedback to the city in a number of ways including: public consultation featuring facilitated discussions on Sept. 6 at the Civic Recreation Complex, Bobby Orr meeting room from 7 to 8:30 p.m.; and online survey on Connect Oshawa at www.connectoshawa.ca/DI until Sept. 15; or in-person survey at Service Oshawa until Sept. 15

Feedback from the online and in-person opportunities will be received until Friday, Sept. 15 and will be considered during the finalization of the Diversity and Inclusion Plan, which is anticipated for fall of 2017.

Further information on the review, including reports, presentations and other important items are available on the City’s website at oshawa.ca/di.
