Change needed at city hall

Dear Editor,

Councillors and mayor, if there were an election tomorrow, I would not vote for any of you guys.

My concerns are not met, like transit in the City Of Oshawa is bad . Most of your buses say don’t drink and drive, but the buses stop running about 12:30 a.m. The bars get out around 2 a.m. People start coming out around 11:30 p.m. I have to walk home from a Gens games on Sunday because there are no buses. I can’t afford drive, so I depend on the buses. I am a monthly pass holder and I am not getting the service that I am paying for. Durham transit costs more than the TTC, but for lousy service.

There is a bylaw that there is no BBQ at Lakeview Park. I remember when I was growing up, the city had BBQ at the park. So where can the citizens who live in apartments go in this city to have a BBQ? All I am is hearing stories about that. I feel that the citizens should been informed like a town hall meeting because the taxpayers pay for the park.

The name change of the GM Centre – whose idea was that? That arena is owned by the taxpayers of Oshawa. Was there a town hall meeting for the change? The money that you got from the deal, where is it going? Or was it a back door deal ?

Don’t forget who put you guys there. You councillors did not apply for a job at city hall.

It was suggested that we have an outdoor rink at city hall square. That was shut down. Having New Years at city hall square, that got shut down. The Legends Centre stops at 9 p.m.

This city is 40 years behind the times We need, in this city, new blood with new ideas. With transit, the downtown is not a friendly place or a family oriented. It got so bad that banks had to hire security guards and the TD Bank downtown had to close the ATM at night because the homeless were sleeping there. Is that considered safe for the people of this city? I can go on.

So you all failed as our representatives of our city.
