CANE, William “Bill” G.
At Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday July 29, 2016. Born June, 1923. He was educated in Oshawa and Flint Michigan and graduated from G.M.I Engineering and Management Institute (Kettering University) in 1949, having previously served in the R.C.A.F. from 1942 to 1945. He worked for General Motors in various capacities across Canada during his career and retired as assistant General Sales Manager in 1979. He was a life member of Temple Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 649 in Oshawa, a member of the Calgary Lodge of Perfection A. & A. Scottish Rite, a member of Rameses Shrine in Toronto, The Oshawa Shrine Club, The Liftlock Billiken Club in Peterborough and the Katchina Klub (R.0.J.) in Scottsdale Arizona. He was a member of The Oshawa Golf Club, The Ontario Regiment Ferret Club, The Carney Club, The Phi Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, the founder of the Canecrest Conservation Area, and a life member of The Canadian Professional Sales Association. He was an adherent and supporter of Northminster United Church. Predeceased by his wife of 57 years, the former Doris McBrien (Friend). He is survived by his son Frederick (Craig Stowe) of Toronto and his daughter Lynn Cane of Calgary Alberta and grandsons Matthew and Cameron. A service will be held on Friday August 5, 2016 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with interment following at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens.
