Bathroom window peeker nabbed

An arrest has been made after a security camera caught a man peeking into a house’s bathroom window.

Police were first called in January after a resident from the area of Beatrice Street East and Grandview Street North found footprints in the snow outside their house, leading to the lower level bathroom window. After this, the resident installed a security camera.

Two months later, the resident reported three incidents where a man was peering into the bathroom window, usually just before it got dark outside.

The resident reported seeing a male suspect walking a small dog earlier in the evening in a nearby green space, and would return later without the dog.

On Tuesday, April 12, police responded to the area when a suspect was spotted behind the residence. The suspect was later located and arrested on Beatrice Street North.

A 46-year-old male of Grandview Street North has been charged with three counts of trespassing at night and one count of criminal harassment.

Police want to ensure there are no other victims and are asking anyone who has experienced a similar incident in the area to call Det. Const Price at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 1613.
