Arrest made after break-in at seniors’ apartment building

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a break and enter at a seniors’ apartment building earlier this month.

Officers responded to the apartment building at King Street East near Eastlawn Street on Thursday, Nov. 17, for a break and enter. According to police, a male suspect was seen breaking a glass window to gain access into the building in the dining area before walking through the hallways while residents were sleeping. The suspect was gone by the time police arrived.

After receiving a tip from the public, a suspect was found at approximately 6 a.m. in the area of Simcoe Street South and Olive Avenue in Oshawa.

A 39-year-old male of no fixed address has been charged with break and enter in connection with this incident.
