Appleby, Brodeau off to Blues camp

The guardians of the Gens’ goalposts for its Memorial Cup winning season have taken their trade to Missouri for the St. Louis Blues prospect camp.

Both starter Ken Appleby and back-up Jeremy Brodeur were in St. Louis last week for the NHL’s prospect camp.

Appleby is no stranger to prospect camps, having taken part in camps last year with the Arizona Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks. The 20-year-old netminder remains undrafted.

Brodeur took part in a development camp last year when he was only 17 with the New Jersey Devils, the team his father, Martin, tended net for from 1993 to 2014, winning three Stanley Cups.

Martin is now the assistant general manager for the St. Louis Blues.
